The e-learning ATEX Awareness of ATEXcertificaat.nl has been developed for employees who do not have to deal with the danger of explosion every day, but must be aware of the risks involved. The e-learning is concluded with a final test. Students who complete this successfully will receive the ATEX Awareness certificate.
In the e-learning the following topics are discussed:
- What is an explosion?;
- ATEX legislation and regulations;
- Flammable substances and their properties;
- Prevent explosions;
- Explosion-proof equipment;
- Responsibilities and permits.
ATEX Awareness certificate
The e-learning is concluded with a final test. Students who complete this successfully receive the ATEX Awareness certificate directly as PDF per mail. There is therefore no need to take an exam at a different location at a later time. However, an official exam can be taken at the exam office in accordance with the IECEx 05 module 000.
Practical information
Students will receive an activation code after registration with which they can immediately start the e-learning. The e-learning consists of films and animations. Each chapter is concluded with a series of practice questions, enabling course participants to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge in a pleasant way, where and when they want to.

ATEX Basic course module 001
Operational employees working with and on ATEX equipment learn everything about ATEX legislation and ATEX certification in the ATEX Basic course module 001. In addition, students learn the basic principles of explosion safety to apply ATEX zones. The course is based on the end and test criteria IECEx 05 module 001.
ATEX Management training
ATEXcertificaat.nl offers the ATEX2 management training especially for managers and managers in organizations with potentially explosive zones. During this interactive, practically oriented training, participants obtain relevant knowledge about explosion risks and learn what their own tasks and responsibilities are.
ATEX Training E-Inspection and maintenance
During this two-day training, participants learn how to carry out maintenance and inspections of electrical Ex equipment on the basis of ATEX 114 and in accordance with the applicable Dutch standards.
ATEX Training W-Inspection and maintenance
The training ATEX5 W-Inspection and maintenance has been developed for mechanical engineers in organizations with an increased explosion risk. During this one-day training, participants learn to manage and execute maintenance and inspections on the basis of ATEX 114 and according to European standards.
