Mechanical fittings for plastic piping systems

The approval requirements specify the requirements for mechanical fittings made of for polyethylene (PE) and polyvinylchloride (PVC-HI) plastic piping systems for the supply of gaseous fuels of the 2nd and 3rd family according to EN 437.
De mechanical fittings can be full-end-load or non-end-load and made from plastic or metal. The maximum operating temperature is -20 °C to 40 °C.
The maximum operating pressure for each application is mentioned in table 1.

An approved quotation is the beginning of a tested and an approved product. The most important steps are:

- Initial product assessment: the assessment to determine if all requirements in the approval requirement are met.

- The result is a certificate upon which is mentioned to which requirements the product complies.

- Product verification: the assessment performed after granting certification to determine that the certified products still comply with the requirements in the approval requirement. 

- Control on quality system requirements: control on following the IQC scheme (as described in the approval requirement) and the procedures.
