Laboratory research and field testing on synthetic sports surfaces
Synthetic sports surfaces are available in various species and for different applications, e.g. indoor sports, running tracks and artificial turf for football, field hockey and rugby. In all cases the required investment is substantial, and the final profitability depending on the total product lifespan. In order to maximize both the return on investment as well as the playing comfort of the athletes, the best possible product quality is required. This can be realized by conducting laboratory research and field testing on these systems. In this respect, International Sports Federations like FIFA, IRB, FIH, IAAF and ITF have developed specific Quality Programs, consisting of standards and test methods.
