Who is KOMO product certification and testing for?
The KOMO product certificate for drainage systems is relevant for contractors, farmers, architects and anyone working for provinces or municipalities involved in installing drainage systems. Also, companies in the agricultural, or civil engineering sector that are involved in installing plastic drainage systems.
Either you’ll want to work with certified products or, as a certificate holder you’ll want to demonstrate to your customers that an expert independent organization supervises the production process of the certificate holder, the quality of the product and the quality assurance thereof.

Ribbed drainage pipes of unplasticised PVC (BRL-1401)
KOMO certification under Kiwa evaluation guideline BRL1401 applies to products intended to use for the drainage or infiltration of soils.
The assessment guideline BRL 1401 is a certification scheme for ribbed drainage pipes of unplasticized PVC.
No harmonized European standard applies to the products that belong to the scope of this assessment guideline.

Cylindrical sleeves unplasticized PVC with click connection for ribbed drainage pipes (BRL-1404)
KOMO certification under Kiwa evaluation guideline BRL1404 applies to pipes from 50 mm to 125 mm in accordance with NEN 7036. Also for drainage pipes with outside diameters of 60 mm to 80 mm in accordance with BRL-1410.
The assessment guideline BRL 1404 is a certification scheme for cylindrical sleeves of unplasticized PVC with click connection for corrugated drainage pipes.

Power pipes of unplasticised PVC for drainage pipes (BRL-1405)
KOMO certified power pipes in accordance with BRL1405 can be used in combination with drainpipes with an outer diameter of 50 – 125 mm. Destination is the drainage or infiltration of the soil, except for landfill and storage sites.
In case the production location has a certified ISO9001 system, a reduction of 2 visits per year can be realized.
The assessment guideline BRL 1405 is a certification scheme for factory-made power pipes of unplasticized PVC for drainage pipes.
Ribbed drainpipes, click sleeves and power pipes made of PE, PP and mixtures thereof (BRL-1410)
KOMO certified pipes in accordance with BRL1410 can be used for the drainage or infiltration of soils, except for landfill and waste storage sites.
The assessment guideline BRL 1410 is a certification scheme for ribbed drainage pipes, click sleeves and end pipes made of PE, PP and mixtures thereof.

Pipe drainage (BRL-1411)
KOMO certified pipe drainage in accordance with BRL1411 applies to the construction of pipe drainage, or an attest-with-product certificate on (composite) adjustable drainage systems.
The assessment guideline BRL 1411 is particularly suitable for drainage or infiltration of land for agriculture and horticulture, preparing construction sites, nature areas, sports and recreation grounds and the products used therein.

Casing material for drainage pipes (BRL-1412)
KOMO certified drainage pipes in accordance with BRL1412 can be used for the drainage or infiltration of soils, in combination with drainage pipes according to the assessment guidelines of BRL-1401 and BRL-1410.
The assessment guideline BRL 1412 is a certification scheme for casing material for drainage pipes and replaces BRL-1402, BRL-1408 and BRL-1409.
