Course introduction

This hydrogen awareness eLearning course provides a learning foundation about the key role the gas network has to play in decarbonisation of the UK. It sets out how the gas network will support the UK's transition to a net zero economy by 2050. 

The cost of the course is £54 inclusive of VAT. 

Who is the course for?

This course would be useful for gas installers and engineers working in the renewable energy sector.

What will delegates take away?

There is no assessment within this course, however, on completion of the course you'll be awarded a certificate of awareness.

The topics covered include

• Introduction to hydrogen – covers the importance of hydrogen in the energy transition, a general view of the challenges faced in the energy transition and the use of hydrogen.
• What is hydrogen? – we take a closer look at what hydrogen is and what its properties are, compared to natural gas.
• Production – in this section we delve into hydrogen production, how it's made and the technologies used for this.
• Storage and transport – in this section we discuss the techniques used to store and transport hydrogen
• Applications – in this section we look at the various application options for hydrogen.
• Safety – this section discusses appropriate safety measures to ensure hydrogen safety is comparable with that of energy carriers.
