Course introduction
This hydrogen awareness eLearning course provides a learning foundation about the key role the gas network has to play in decarbonisation of the UK. It sets out how the gas network will support the UK's transition to a net zero economy by 2050.
The cost of the course is £54 inclusive of VAT.

- Introduction to hydrogen – covers the importance of hydrogen in the energy transition, a general view of the challenges faced in the energy transition and the use of hydrogen.
- What is hydrogen? – we take a closer look at what hydrogen is and what its properties are, compared to natural gas.
- Production – in this section we delve into hydrogen production, how it's made and the technologies used for this.
- Storage and transport – in this section we discuss the techniques used to store and transport hydrogen
- Applications – in this section we look at the various application options for hydrogen.
- Safety – this section discusses appropriate safety measures to ensure hydrogen safety is comparable with that of energy carriers.
